  02. ROBOT SKIN

 

  Group of researchers in University of Houston has discovered a material that has ability to sense strain , pressure and temperature, Actually the rubber electronics can act as an artificial skin when it stretched up to 50% of it's length. But this material has special ability to give flexible sensing capabilities to a range of electronic devices.
 
  One of the team member Cun Jieng Yu, an assistant professor of University of Houston said, "It is a piece of rubber, but it has the function of circuit and sensors". As well as he said that they are going to publish their study on September 8 in the Journal Science Advances.

  One of the most valuable property of this rubbery semi conductor is , it starts in a liquid form, then it can be poured in to molds and scaled up to large sizes or even used like a kind of rubber based ink and 3D printed into a variety of different objects.

  As human want to be able to work near robots and coexist with them, this relationship should be happen safely, for that the robot itself needs to be able to fully sense it's surroundings. Considering that factor the research team has tested this material to measure temperature and pressure, they got very good results.

  considering all these functions of this material the research team said that "THIS WILL CHANGE THE FIELD OF STRETCHABLE ELECTRONICS".

2.BMW 8 SERIES

BMW is bringing back the 8 Series after a break of almost 20 years, as it prepares to take on the Mercedes S-Class Coupe. A gorgeous design study of the new 2+2 was previewed at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy, holding its own even among some of the world’s most stunning cars.

The concept is thought to be close to production form and is likely to use the same platform as the latest 7 Series luxury saloon. Its interior will boast much of the same tech, too, including gesture control for the iDrive-based infotainment system. Expect a range of petrol and diesel engines from launch that will include six-cylinders and V8s.

In time it’s possible that 6.6-litre V12 and plug-in hybrid ‘e’ versions will be launched. Following the Coupe will be larger Gran Coupe and Convertible.

price of this real master piece will be 65000 euros or high and this will be released to the market in late 2018.

1. AUDI Q8 2018

   

                          A German automobile company called AUDI has trademarked the Q8 name in 2012. After few years of this they have introduced their new competitor against the BMW X6 and Mercedez Benz GLE Coupe that called AUDI Q8. This new flagship SUV will showcase plenty of cutting edge tech with it's coupe style body. Concept of this car was previewed for the first time in 2017 Detroit auto show but for now it is in it's testing sessions. For sure this will be the more practical coupe type SUV than the BMW X6 and Benz GLE coupe.

                         This will be released to the market soon in 2018, and i am pretty sure that this will be the number one choice for SUV lovers in all over the world. But the price will pretty much high according to estimates of the company, relevant to their estimations it will be 55000 Euros, But in Sri Lanka this price will be 10584750.00 LKR +taxes.

         Since ancient times people used to make artificial body parts for disabled persons. Time to time these artificial organs have been developed. But even in recent past , building human organs cell by cell was considered as science fiction. So I'm glad you to tell that it is not a fiction anymore.
   
   
         There is a company named ORGONOVA that is based in San Diego,California. Their scientists have invented a technology(novogen) which allows living tissue cells to be assembled into patterns and complex structures such as organs.
   
   
          By now, ORGONOVA is developing a bio-printer with the aid of the company named INVETECH that is based in Australia. This device prints human cells in a three dimensional matrix to construct human tissues.
   
   
           As they said, now this printer can print blood vessels, and they predict that in 5 years time this will construct arteries, in 2020 it will build sophisticated organs.
